meet read
hi, i’m read.
For more than a decade, I supported pregnant individuals and families as they navigated the complexities of our medical system. Birth work brought me close to some of life’s most profound moments, but it also exposed me to the intensity and strain of a system that often moves too fast for the human body and nervous system.
In nursing school, I began working overnight shifts on labor and delivery. Over time, my own body started communicating with me in ways I could no longer ignore. The exhaustion, the stress, and the constant pace began to show up physically and emotionally. Something inside me knew that if I wanted to live a life that felt nourishing and sustainable, I needed to listen.
So I stepped away.
What followed was a deep journey of self-discovery. I explored different forms of movement, therapy, and healing practices. I studied the nervous system and slowly began learning a new language, the language of my own body.
Along the way, I discovered something powerful: healing isn’t about fixing ourselves. It’s about learning how to listen with compassion. The difficult edges we encounter often hold the greatest wisdom. And cultivating peace isn’t something we arrive at once and for all; it’s a practice we return to again and again.
This work grew from that understanding.
Today, I offer trauma-informed yoga and nervous system–aware practices that support people in reconnecting with their bodies with gentleness and curiosity. My intention is to create spaces where you can slow down, release held tension, and rediscover the sense of safety and resilience that already lives within you.
You don’t have to navigate this path alone. Healing happens in relationships with ourselves, with others, and within our community.
I’m here to walk alongside you as you come home to your body.
Take Root: to be grounded in the contradictions and complexities of life
